In February 2020, the Asian American Mentor Program’s (AAMP) Events Committee hosted a field day for the larger Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Claremont community to enjoy. Derrick Nguyen ’22 spearheaded documentation efforts as an AAMP mentor. Furthermore, he enlisted the help of his own mentee Chris Chung ’23 to film. Derrick would finish editing and publishing the video in March 2020, just two weeks before the pandemic forced colleges to evacuate their campuses.
